Fayetteville State University’s campus had long been divided by a railroad right-of-way.  This project provided much needed connectivity with the planning and construction of an aesthetically pleasing main entrance road that connects both sides of the campus and provides much improved accessibility to Student Services, Student Aid, and the Administration Building.

Moorman, Kizer & Reitzel, Inc. led the design team in a project that included a one quarter mile road, removing/retrofitting parking lots and roads, additional 300 space parking lot; relocation of existing 450 foot radio tower guy wires and anchors; relocation of the University high voltage electric distribution system; Engineering and permitting a CSX at-grade vehicular railroad crossing with signalization and gates; Roadway, parking lot and area lighting; Preparation of Environmental Assessment (Obtain FONSI); Wetland delineation and surveying, Permitting included wetlands, air quality, water protection, erosion control and flood certification.  Project is located in the watershed area.  All of this constructed while Campus continued operations.
